The Democrats are proving once again just how out of step they are with the American people with their criticism of President Trump's decision to whack Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani.

Some are suggesting that it was wrong for Trump to strike back for the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. The people are tired of the apologies and are proud when America stands up to its adversaries.

Most Democrats have been careful to point out what a total monster Soleimani was and how he was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American service people, but were then quick to hammer Trump for offing him. Say what?

Some Democrats are angry that Trump did not notify Congress first. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff are beside themselves, as they were when Trump nailed ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi that they were not consulted before the drone hit on Soleimani. Please!

With the Democrat candidates for Trump's job largely in agreement that Soleimani was, in fact, a bad dude who killed many Americans, several felt it necessary to find fault with Trump for eradicating him.

Elizabeth Warren tweeted, "This reckless move escalates the situation with Iran and increases the likelihood of more deaths and new Middle East conflict." Bernie Sanders offered, "Trump's dangerous escalation brings us closer to another disastrous war in the Middle East that could cost countless lives and trillions more dollars.” Joe Biden opined Trump “just tossed a stick of dynamite into a tinderbox.” I wonder what the families of those who lost loved ones at the hands of Soleimani feel about those statements?

By comparison, Republicans cheered the death of Soleimani. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) tweeted, "The end of Qasem Soleimani is welcome and long-overdue justice for the thousands of Americans killed or wounded." Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Nebraska), "This is very simple: General Soleimani is dead because he was an evil bastard who murdered Americans. The President made the brave and right call, and Americans should be proud of our service members who got the job done."

Democrats sound mighty cowardly and weak at times like these. Someone needs to show them that it is okay to root for America.

Oh, wait – someone just did.
