Davio’s In Foxboro Cooks Up Some Mean Scallops — Neal’s Night Out

Neal's night out took us to Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse in Foxboro at Patriot's Place. Normally we head out to restaurants around the Southcoast, but this week brought us to Foxboro. Davio's is one of those restaurants most save for special occasions, for us it was mom's birthday so when we asked her where she wanted to go, she chose Davio's. When you walk into Davio's you know you are in some place special, the decor is beautiful, large columns, white table cloth's and mahogany bar.

We made a noon reservation for mom's birthday the restaurant was quiet we were seated in a semi-private area as we had seven in our party, the wait-staff was very attentive to us and helped with the wine selection and appetizers. I started off with the crab cake with toasted corn relish and cilantro tartar sauce, the crab cake was cooked perfectly, it was tender and very flavorful, one of the best I have had! For my meal I went for Pan Seared Sea Scallops, Sweet Creamy Corn with Match Stick Potatoes, I know that Davio's is a steak-house but, scallops are one of my favorites. Plus, out of the 7 of us only two had the steak, scallops and salmon were the other choice.

I have to say one of my favorite things when enjoying fine dining is when every plate hits the table at the same time, the other favorite thing is the presentation of the food on the plate, every plate was perfect! The scallops were cooked to perfection and the sweet creamy corn was the perfect compliment. I tried the salmon as well that was seasoned well and cooked to perfection as well, I didn't get a chance to try the steak as my two brothers hoarded every bite! They did tell me that the steak was tender and delicious.

We skipped dessert as we were having cake for mom at home, the dessert selection looked fantastic as they had tiramisu, canoli's tarts and jelato offerings. When the bill came some eyebrows were raised at the price, then I reminded everyone how delicious the food was and they happily pulled the cash out of the wallet!
