Dave Portnoy Finds the Best Pizza on Cape Cod

One bite is all he needs.

Dave Portnoy's unique take on pizza has drawn attention to some of the best (and worst) pies in the area.

On a recent visit to Cape Cod, the Barstool Sports Founder stumbled upon what he says is "a Cape Cod 11."

Stone L'Oven Pizza in Brewster welcomed Portnoy on Wednesday, October 1. He walked out with a large cheese pizza and high hopes.

Before sampling, he noted the cost. "If price is any indication, this should be good. Twenty-four dollar large pie," Portnoy said.

As the box opened, he liked what he saw.

"Hands down, the best-looking pizza I've encountered so far on my Cape Cod journey," he said.

One Bite

Then, it was the moment we all wait for: the taste test.

"Now I gotta stay calm, not mistakenly put this at a 9.8 because the difference from this and what I had earlier," Portnoy said, making a comparison to the other pies he tried during his Cape trip.

"Cape Cod 11.5," Portnoy said. Overall, the pizza from Stone L'Oven scored a bit lower. The One Bite creator gave it a 7.7 out of 10.

"If you live on the Cape and you want good pizza, Pizza L'Oven wasn't overly busy. Very good. By far the best I've had on this trip," Portnoy added.

He even made time for a photo op with the staff who were very grateful for the visit.

"I couldn't speak highly enough about it. Very good," Portnoy said.
