DA’s Office: Death Of Fairhaven Woman Now Homicide

Authorities say the death of a 69-year-old Fairhaven woman is being investigated as a homicide.

The Bristol County district attorney's office said Wednesday that Joyce Howland was found dead at her home late Tuesday morning. Police said a friend who went to check on Howland after being unable to reach her discovered her body and called police.

The prosecutor's office said a preliminary investigation and autopsy led them to consider Howland's death a homicide.
