A creative video from Dartmouth High School seniors asking part-time Rhode Island resident Taylor Swift to join them at prom is the lip sync we never knew we needed.

On June 2, DHS seniors will have their prom at Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln, Rhode Island, complete with a scheduled fireworks display for students at the end of the night.

Class advisors Jessica Lassey and Wesley Lima, both of whom adore Swift, encouraged their students to share a video the seniors recorded in which they lip-synced to Swift's hit song "22."

"The lip-sync video was used at our Dartmouth's Finest competition, which is the former Mr. Dartmouth," Lassey told Fun 107. "It was open to all seniors as a talent show, so Maryellen Silvia and her other senior friends had some help with the media class to create a fun Taylor Swift video.

"They chose the song '22' for 2022."

Due to the pandemic, the senior class never got the opportunity to attend its junior banquet, opening up doors for a grander event.

"The entire class worked really hard and raised a lot of money," Lassey said. "They truly deserve this and our one wish, since it's in Rhode Island, is to possibly get Taylor to surprise them on June 2.

Dartmouth High has never cut a music program, according to Lassey, who admires Swift for conducting herself "in a classy and dignified way" while staying relevant in a competitive industry.

"She's managed to capture the career and dreams of our students," Lassey said.

Well, Ms. Swift, the ball is in your court. We know you have a mansion in the Watch Hill neighborhood of Westerly.

What a surprise it would be if you showed up unannounced!
