A New Bedford business that gained recognition on a worldwide scale is making a big move out of the city, and we ask the tough questions about what prompted the move.

Nathaniel Ellis, owner of Flip This Dollhouse, has had quite the past few years. Most notably, one of his dollhouses was featured in Taylor Swift's Eras Tour and also in one of her music videos.

Recently, Ellis took to Facebook and announced he would be relocating to the Tower Mill in Fall River, so now he's holding a big sale. He has been at the Kilburn Mill for seven years. The plan is to get the new location opened up by early April, which means he needs to empty his current location fairly quickly.

Why Flip This Dollhouse Is Leaving New Bedford

What prompted the move to Fall River?

"I decided at the beginning of this year that I wanted to make a power move/big change that would help my business to grow and prosper," Ellis said. "Moving to the Tower Mill allows me to have a larger space for more dollhouses, furniture, and accessories. The new space also has a finished classroom, where we plan to offer classes in the future on making different items for your dollhouse. It also has one giant room for shopping instead of 2 rooms like our current shop."

Location also played a part.

"The new space is also more conveniently located, just a few minutes off of Routes 195 and 24. There is an elevator to the third floor and the shop is located maybe six feet from the elevator," he said. "Also, there are over 150 convenient parking spots available in the attached parking lot. These are just a few of the many reasons why we decided it was time to move. The new location will be better in so many ways."

When the New Store Plans to Open

The new location will feature between 25 and 50 more dollhouses that the current location, and the plan is to have a soft opening at the new location on April 1.

Where to Find the New Tower Mill Location

"Our new location will be on the third floor of the Tower Mill at 657 Quarry Street in Fall River, Massachusetts. We will be open every Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. year-round."

Congrats to Ellis and his team. Taking the leap to a bigger location is exciting and we wish you the best of luck in Fall River, although we will miss you in New Bedford.
