Dartmouth Police Seek Suspect in Mall Disturbance
Update (10:00 a.m. Thursday) — The suspect has been identified.
DARTMOUTH — Dartmouth Police are looking for help from the public in identifying a man believed to be involved in a recent disturbance at Macy's in the Dartmouth Mall that had mallgoers scrambling for the exits in an apparent shooting scare.
The police department posted a photo of the suspect in the incident to its Facebook page on Thursday morning.
Police had previously said that no shots were fired on Saturday, but there was a physical altercation between several males at Macy's in which a glass counter and a few mirrors were broken.
In the post on Thursday, police said that several hundred dollars worth of damage was done in the store.
The photo of the male suspect shows him wearing a black jacket and red baseball cap with what appear to be patches or logos on it.
Anyone with any information on his identity is asked to contact Detective Kyle Costa at 508-910-1755.
Anonymous tips can also be submitted via the department's tip411 system.
