Dartmouth Police Arrest Shoplifting Suspect
Dartmouth Police arrest a suspect in a shoplifting case, but a second suspect remains at large.
According to a press release, Dartmouth Det. Keith DaCosta drove into the Rite Aid parking lot on Dartmouth St. Saturday afternoon, and saw the store manager attempting to stop two women from leaving the area.
Det. DaCosta attempted to stop the suspect's vehicle, but it accelerated away from him, jumping a curb and crashing into a loading dock at the neighboring United States Post Office. Both women then got out of the car and ran off.
After a brief foot chase, Det. DaCosta was able to apprehend one of the women, 25 year old Chante Graham of Fall River. The second woman remains at large.
Graham is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (motor vehicle), larceny over $250, failure to stop for police, operating to endanger, and resisting arrest. She'll be arraigned Monday in New Bedford District Court.
