Weeks-Long Probe Leads to Dartmouth Fentanyl Trafficking Arrest
DARTMOUTH (WBSM) — A Dartmouth man with a history of drug charges was arrested on multiple new drug charges following a weeks-long investigation by Dartmouth Police and Massachusetts State Police.
Investigation and Search Warrant
Detectives from the Dartmouth Police Community Impact Unit teamed up with state police detectives on the investigation, which targeted Jeremiah Cowart, 34. Detectives were able to obtain a search warrant for Cowart’s residence at 62 Huntington Avenue in Dartmouth.
Detectives executed the warrant on November 14, and took Cowart into custody as he was fleeing his house and running into the wooded area behind it.
The Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council SWAT Team then entered and secured Cowart’s residence. The Dartmouth Police K-9 and Drone Units also provided assistance during the investigation and the execution of the search warrant.

What Officers Allegedly Found at 62 Huntington Ave
Police said a search of the residence turned up about 21 grams of suspected fentanyl, a bag of suspected oxycodone tablets weighing about eight grams, $4,013 in cash, scales and packaging materials, and a hydraulic press used to compress powdered narcotics.
Arrest and Charges
Cowart was arrested and charged with trafficking in fentanyl over 10 grams, possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug (subsequent offense), and possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug (subsequent offense).
