If you go to Shannon Hayes' Facebook page, you'll find photos of a seven year old filled with wonder and who loves Disney's "Frozen" more than anything. You'll also find that Shannon has Type 1 Spinal Muscular Atrophy, "a degenerative disease that weakens the body's muscles until they can no longer function." There is no treatment or cure for SMA. But that doesn't stop Shannon from finding reasons to smile. One reason in particular will a bring a smile to your face as well.

Sydney Gordon is a local 19 year old girl from Dartmouth. She goes to school at Lynn University in Florida for Communication Studies, but dresses up as Disney princesses at birthday parties for part time work. This week she was given the opportunity to visit Shannon at St. Mary's Children's Hospital in Palm Beach.

Elsa journeyed far from Arendelle just for Shannon’s Coronation Day. Princess Shannon smiled from ear to ear as Elsa crowned her, hugged her, and gave her a wintry cool kiss on the cheek. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Gordon spread the love for an amazing little girl with a beautiful soul.

Special thanks to Shannon’s parents who allowed me to use their images for this video. I hope Princess Shannon enjoyed meeting her Disney Idol!
