The Dartmouth Conservation Commission holds a public hearing to discuss the Smith Landfill project. According to Southcoast Today , about two dozen people wearing red shirts with the message of "don't cap it, clean it" were among 60 people who turned out to protest the project.

Conservation Commission Chairman Michael Kehoe said he was upset that the commission hasn't been given documents of cost analysis of other options for the landfill and details of tests conducted so far that members have been requesting since April. Boston Environmental is the Brockton based environmental corporation that plans to cap the 23 acre landfill over 3 years with some additional two million tons of regulatory contaminated soil.

They called for the close of the public hearing which the Conservation Commission reluctantly voted to do without reaching a decision. The Commission has 21 days to issue its decision.
