Dartmouth Clerk Uses Baseball Bat to Defend Against Robber
A clerk at a Dartmouth convenience store fought back against an armed robber with a baseball bat.
Detective Kyle Costa says the robbery took place Thursday night at the Pick N Pay on Dartmouth Street when a man dressed in black with a mask covering part of his face threatened the clerk with a knife and demanded cash. Police say the suspect was able to get away with a few cartons of cigarettes before being chased out of the store by the clerk .
Police are asking for information about the robbery, and are on the lookout for a red Honda Civic that was observed speeding away from the area.
Anyone with information can call Detective Sean McGuire at 508-910-1733, or leave an anonymous tip at 508-997-9900.
Dartmouth Police discourage clerks from fighting back during a robbery, especially when the suspect is armed.
