DA: Burned Woman Found Dead in Dighton Was Not Pregnant
DIGHTON, Mass. (AP) _ The Bristol District Attorney's Office says a Massachusetts woman found dead beside her car earlier this month was not pregnant.
The Taunton Daily Gazette reports officials confirmed Tuesday that a medical examination of the partially burned remains of 47-year-old Tracey Hunter-Montinat revealed she was in fact not pregnant, though she had claimed to be prior to her death.
Police discovered Hunter-Montinat's charred body on Nov. 18 near her car, which was located in a wooded area behind a gated community in Dighton.
A spokesman for the district attorney, Gregg Miliote, says Hunter-Montinat died of smoke inhalation after her vehicle was engulfed in flames.
Hunter-Montinat had recently been married but was estranged from her husband, who police say is not a suspect in her death.
