Couple Arrested at Dartmouth Motel on Drugs Charges
DARTMOUTH — A New Bedford couple was arrested at a Dartmouth motel last week on drug dealing charges after they were found in possession of suspected cocaine and crack cocaine.
Police said that on July 21, law enforcement officers arrested Waleska Torres Rosario, 51, and Angel Rosa Santiago, 30, both of Earle Street, New Bedford.
Dartmouth Police detectives, state police narcotics officers, and members of the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office made the arrests at the Moby Dick Motel on State Road.
The arrests were a result of a narcotics investigation, according to police.
Authorities seized 3.4 grams of suspected cocaine and 6.5 grams of suspected crack cocaine along with $1,309 in cash.
Torres Rosario is charged with possession with intent to distribute a class B substance.
Rosa Santiago is charged with multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute a class B substance.
“Our dedication to ridding Dartmouth of individuals such as these is unwavering," commented Dartmouth Police Chief Brian Levesque.
"Our Narcotics Unit detectives are extremely active, and are constantly out on the streets gathering information and developing leads. I anticipate this arrest to be one of many moving forward.”
