College Students Build Memorial To Honor Dead Cockroach
Students at Texas A&M University decided to build a memorial to honor a fellow cockroach after they discovered that it had passed away in a university stairwell.
According to The Huffington Post, the roach, named "Rosie," was left unattended in the anthropology building for two weeks.
Rosie was first placed on a starry blue and pink piece of paper, next to a pink tombstone. The tributes grew as students placed cigarettes, flowers, stones, notes and coins next to her corpse in the following days. There was also a poster that stated “never forget,” which was added to the memorial, along with a Post-It note that said, "You were always there to say hello to me in the morning, Rosie! We will miss you."
This memorial follows another from this past summer that honored a dead raccoon that was found on the sidewalk in Toronto, Canada.
