Coelho Named Permanent Headmaster At NBHS

Bernadette Coelho has been named the permanent Headmaster at New Bedford High School.

Coelho has worked at the high school since 2006, and was named the acting Headmaster earlier this year, following the resignation of Kathleen Dawson.

Superintendent Pia Durkin said Coelho is a dedicated and respected leader who is committed to the students of New Bedford High School.

Coelho said she appreciated the confidence of Dr. Durkin as well as the school community.

Coelho was selected for the permanent job following a nationwide search.
