Cigarette Robbery In The West End

New Bedford Police are searching for a suspect after a cigarette robbery Monday night.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says the robbery took place around 6:45 p.m. at Perry’s Variety Store at 274 Cedar St. in the West End.

The suspect went into the store asking for cigarettes, before taking out a knife and demanding the clerk hand over cartons of cigarettes before fleeing the store with the cigarettes.

The clerk wasn't harmed.

Vicente says the suspect was described as a light skinned male, in his 30’s, with facial hair and a blue puffy coat.
