A New Bedford High School student, already facing criminal charges for allegedly throwing a chair at a teacher's desk, can no longer return to the high school.

Superintendent Dr. Pia Durkin tells WBSM News, a due-process hearing was held on Friday....

Eighteen year old Kemar Omar Roselus has already been charged by police with assault by means of a dangerous weapon on a person over 60, disturbing the school, and malicious destruction of property.  He will be summonsed into court.

Dr. Durkin says school officials are also investigating the role of other students in the classroom who could be heard on a video laughing and cheering on Roselus.
