Chain-Reaction I-195 Crash in New Bedford Ties Traffic, Injures One
Traffic was tied up this morning as crews worked to clear and investigate a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 195 westbound near Exit 15.
The chain-reaction crash occurred at around 8:10 a.m. when two vehicles that were stopped in traffic near the Route 18 exit were rear-ended by a third vehicle, a spokesperson for Massachusetts State Police said. She said the scene was cleared by around 8:40 a.m.
One person was transported to St. Luke's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The initial backup was reportedly due to a slowdown for a highway work site.
It's not clear if any citations were issued.
