Celtics Hall Of Famer Bill Russell Cited For Gun Violation

Former NBA legend Bill Russell is in trouble with the law after being detained for allegedly bringing a loaded gun to Sea-Tac International Airport in Seattle. 

Police say the 79-year-old Russell was arrested Wednesday and issued a state citation for having a weapon in a prohibited area of the airport.  He was later released. Early reports said Russell had a legal permit for the weapon. 

A TSA spokeswoman says he had a .38-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun.  Along with the citation, Russell could be fined up to 75-hundred dollars. (Metro Networks Inc. and Boston.Com)
