Christopher Carreiro will become Swansea's next Selectman following elections on Monday.

Unofficial results released by the Town Clerk's office show Carreiro earning 834 votes and James Hanley getting 247.

Carreiro is filling a seat vacated by current Selectman Kenneth Furtado, who chose to not seek re-election.

Timothy Cabral defeated Michelle Duarte 569 to 398 to win a seat on the Planning Board.

The remaining races on the ballot, which include Town Clerk and Park Commission, featured candidates who were running unopposed.
