Car Chase Starts In Fairhaven, Ends In New Bedford

An early Monday morning car chase begins in Fairhaven and ends with a crashed Mercedes in New Bedford.

Fairhaven Police Sgt Kevin Kobza says that at around 4:30 a.m. an officer encountered a vehicle parked at Little Bay Rd. near the bike path.

The vehicle, described as a 2000 Blue E320 Mercedes-Benz, then fled towards Route 6 at a high rate of speed when the officer illuminated it with a spot light.

Kobza says the vehicle was later found in New Bedford after it crashed, it was unoccupied and there was nobody at the scene.

The incident is under investigation.
