Dozens of people in Syria are dead on this Thursday morning, the victims of a deadly car bomb attack.

Perhaps this is just a reminder of how that area is still very sensitive. According to the Telegraph, the attack happened as talks between Syrians and their opposition were under way. Many thought there might be a resolution to conflict, but it seems that is not going to happen.

Reports are coming in this morning that at least 31 people were killed in the attack. The area where the bomb went off was near President Bashar al-Assad’s headquarters. So was this a message being sent to the president, or an assassination attempt gone wrong?
