Thanks to students and alumni of the UMass Dartmouth College of Visual and Performing Arts, Thursday nights have become special once again in Downtown New Bedford.

The college and its partners are offering free performances and exhibits every Thursday evening for the next ten weeks in the windows of the former Star Store building at Purchase and Union Streets.

Performers in the "Star Series" include musicians, spoken word artists, sculptors, a DJ, and many more. So wear warm clothing, bring a blanket, and a thermos full of hot tea and enjoy the show.

Gallery Director Viera Levitt is one of the organizers of the series. She spoke with Townsquare Sunday about the series, its importance during COVID-19, and upcoming performances. Her interview can be heard here:

Townsquare Sunday is an hour-long public affairs program heard every Sunday at 6 a.m. on 1420 WBSM. The program highlights individuals and organizations working to improve the quality of life on the SouthCoast.

If you would like your organization featured on Townsquare Sunday, please e-mail the host at jim.phillips@townsquaremedia.com.
