Bridge Crash Victim Identified as 95-Year-Old Mattapoisett Man

NEW BEDFORD – The Bristol County District Attorney's Office has identified the elderly victim in this morning's fatal crash on the New Bedford-Fairhaven Bridge.

Abel Grace, Sr., 95, of Mattapoisett was the lone person killed in the crash. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Access to Pope's Island was shut down for quite some time following the crash, which does not appear to warrant any criminal charges, the District Attorney's Office said this afternoon.
