According to Wander.com, Boston has been ranked one of the Top 10 best destinations in America for a family vacation. The city came in at No. 6, placing just behind popular destinations like Tampa, Florida and San Francisco, California.

Why Boston Is Great For Families

People travel from all over the world to visit Boston. The city offers a wide range of family friendly attractions, including the New England Aquarium, Red Sox games at Fenway Park and the food and entertainment at Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall.

Families can also explore American history by walking the Freedom Trail, relaxing in Boston Common, or visiting the Boston Tea Party Ship.

What Makes Boston Stand Out

The report gave Boston a score of 8.51 out of 10 as a top family vacation destination. It scored especially high for walkability, parks and recreation space, and the number of kid-friendly activities available throughout the city.

Is Boston a Good Family Vacation Destination?

Boston did score lower in areas like traffic and average temperatures, which sit around 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

However, those factors were offset by one major advantage: Boston ranked as the No. 1 safest city among all destinations on the list, making it a solid choice for this summer’s family vacation.
