Body of New Bedford Woman Found in Submerged Car in Boston
The bodies of a 21-year old New Bedford woman, identified as Tatianna Morales, and a Boston-area man were recovered Friday from a submerged vehicle off the Black Falcon Pier in Boston.
The male was later identified as 21-year old Djovany Pierre of the city's Roxbury neighborhood.
Mass. State Police divers with an assist from a Boston Fire Department diver located the SUV about 15 feet out from the pier. State Police had developed information that a vehicle had gone into the water at that location earlier in the week.
MSP divers were able to extricate the female victim and bring her body to shore. The male victim could not be extricated from the vehicle while underwater, so divers hooked tow cables to the entire vehicle and a truck winched it out. The male victim was recovered from the vehicle once it was on land.
Family and friends had told authorities both Morales and Pierre had been missing since Tuesday, and friends had been searching for them in the Boston-area. State Police say the investigation is ongoing.
