Boater Found Unresponsive in Dartmouth

A boater reported missing earlier Tuesday afternoon off Barney's Joy Point was located about an hour later in the vicinity of the Slocum River.

The U.S. Coast Guard says 74-year-old Robert Griffith was found unresponsive by members of the Buzzards Bay Task Force just before 4 p.m.

Griffith was reported missing approximately an hour earlier when his 18-foot Carolina Skiff was found abandoned and washed ashore.

Crews from the Coast Guard station Menemsha and Air Station Cape Cod took part in the search. There is no word on Griffith's condition.
