The U.S. Coast Guard on Thursday medevaced an injured crew member from a commercial fishing vessel located 160 miles off the coast of Boston.

Coast Guard District One received notification at around 3:30 a.m. from the 72-foot commercial fishing vessel Jennifer Anne, reporting that a 35-year-old crew member had fallen overboard and was recovered by other crew members. Back on board, the fisherman was experiencing hypothermia-like conditions and had minor lacerations, the Coast Guard said.

A Jayhawk helicopter was deployed from Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod along with an HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft crew. The fisherman was safely hoisted at approximately 6:51 a.m. He was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital for care. Weather on scene was 15-knot winds and 3-5 foot seas, the Coast Guard said.
