Boston Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts has seen his late charge in the fan vote polling propel him all the way to the third and final starting outfield spot in the American League All-Star team, in MLB.com's latest polling update.

Betts, who entered last week's update in fifth place among the AL's leading outfield vote-getters, leapfrogged both Kansas City's Lorenzo Cain and Baltimore's Mark Trumbo this week.

While his lead is slim, Betts now holds a 19,345 vote cushion over the next closest competitor, Toronto's Jose Bautista. It will be an interesting finish to the fan vote, however, as only 108,574 votes separate Betts from Bautista, Trumbo and Cain.

Friday officially concludes the starters voting, so each player has limited time for a final push from the fans.

Betts is now the fourth Red Sox player to be lined up for a potential All-Star start, as David Ortiz, Xander Bogaerts and Jackie Bradley Jr. are all atop the leader boards at their respective positions.
