The Boston Celtics are mourning the loss of Hall of Famer John Havlicek.

The team announced he has passed away at the age of 79 in Jupiter, Florida. He had been suffering from Parkinson's Disease.

Havlicek spent 16 seasons in Boston and was a 13-time All-Star.

He helped lead the Celtics to eight NBA Championships.

Eleven-time champion and Celtics great Bill Russell said Havlicek was the greatest all-around player he ever saw.
