"You can have a great career, family, friends, but if not love what do you really have?"

Wise words from Barrington, Rhode Island matchmaker Debra L'Heureux, owner of Get Ready to Date, a local dating service where those looking for love can search for their perfect match.

L'Heureux has always had a knack for helping people find love.

"I've had quite a few people who've been married and had long-term relationships," she said. "I've always been a consummate romantic."

Who Reaches Out for Dating Help and How Does It Work?

Her clientele consists of those a bit older than the typical 20 or 30-somethings on dating apps. Get Ready to Date is quite opposite.

First of all, it's not an app. When you work with L'Heureux, you get personal attention, one-on-one conversation, and assurance that potential partners have a solid background, aren't into casual dating and are financially stable.

Many of L'Heureux's customers are actually looking for love a second time around.

"My youngest client is 40, my oldest is 85, most are in their 50s, 60s, 70s," she said.

Widows or those coming out of a long marriage or relationship turn to Debra for advice and encouragement.

"If you haven't dated in your 20s, its a different world in your 50s and 60s," L'Heureux said.

Haven't Been on a First Date in a While? You're Not Alone

"I talk to everyone the day of their date. If they're nervous of need some help, I help them get ready," she said. "I also have a professional image consultant. For the women, it helps them 'get their sexy on. It's a whole new start."

"It's not just about going out, it's about figuratively holding their hand while they get back into dating," L'Heureux said.

Plus everything is confidential, even last names. If a date goes well (which it usually does), clients can ask L'Heureux for last names and numbers to continue the connection. If both agree, that information is provided. If not, L'Heureux will even handle the tough conversation of letting the other half know if was not a match.

Am I Too Old to Find Someone?

L'Heureux believes it's never too late for love.

"I have a man who's 85 years old and lost his wife and I did relationship coaching with him to get him ready and guess what? He's in a relationship," she said.

Why L'Heureux Loves Helping Others Find Love

Debra L'Heureux has always loved love.

"I kind of look at it like a missing puzzle piece," she said.

She's happy to help you get back out there and search for the perfect connection.
