Bail Amount Increased for Two Charged on Cape
FALMOUTH — The two people who were arrested on Friday soon after two officers were wounded were in court on Monday.
The judge at Falmouth District Court increased the bail amount for Kimberly Koval, 38, and Marcus Maseda, 18. Both are charged with interfering with Falmouth police shortly before two officers were shot.
Police were called to a disturbance late on Friday afternoon and saw Malik Koval, 21, breaking bottles in the street. As officers approached Koval, he ran into a house.
It was then, police report, that Kimberly Koval and Marcus Meseda tried to prevent the officers from pursuing the suspect. It was then when they were both shot at, and injured by Malik Koval. They returned fire, and Koval was also injured.
On Friday, bail was set at $5,000 for the two that are charged with interfering, but today it was raised to $7,500 for each. According to the Cape Cod Times, they were released after posting the bail.
