
Fall River Police Seek Man Accused of Shooting and Killing Dog
FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Fall River Police are seeking a man they allege recently shot and killed a dog, as well as committing other offenses.
Dog Found Shot at Sunset Hill Housing
According to police, officers responded on February 3 to the Sunset Hill Housing Development and arrived to find fresh blood on the floor.
A yellow Labrador retriever was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The dog was transported to an emergency animal hospital but succumbed to its injuries.

Police Identify Kyron Simmons as Suspect
The investigation led police to identify Kyron Simmons, 36, as the suspected shooter. Police said that detectives reviewed security camera footage, conducted interviews, executed search warrants and collected evidence that confirmed Simmons as the suspect in the shooting of the dog, as well as in additional related offenses.
Firearm Accessories Recovered During Search
Detectives also searched Simmons’ residence at the Father Defario Village Housing Development and recovered “firearm accessories,” police said.
Charges Filed Against Simmons
An arrest warrant has been issued for Simmons on the following charges:
- Discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building
- Killing, maiming, or poisoning an animal
- Carrying a firearm without a license
- Carrying a loaded firearm without a license
- Reckless endangerment of a child
- Home invasion
Public Urged Not to Approach Suspect
Police said Simmons is believed to be armed and dangerous. If he is spotted, do not approach him and immediately call 911. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact Fall River Police at (508) 676-8511.
