Everybody knows WBSM is our hometown radio station. My broadcast roots here date back to 2009. My familial seeds were planted at the tail end of the last century. Yet, I cast myself as the proverbial outsider. Most listeners get flustered and frustrated over my freedom-oriented, constitutional, often contrarian rants, but I’m OK when their freedom or livelihood is at risk. Call me a passionate Libertarian, always advocating for the taxpayer and individualism. My bitcoin-business updates alert listeners on how to earn crypto and use it as a savings and payment tool. After retiring from full-time hosting, I still practice my preach. You'll find me operating two home businesses, actively promoting freedom and bitcoin, plus serving as a locally elected Dartmouth Town Meeting member. I’m most proud watching my two adult sons pursue their American dream. Mine consists of traveling, and learning more about places, people and the business side of bitcoin. My 40-foot shuttle bus is being converted into a motorhome-office studio, so I can travel, expand operations and host audio and video shows from wherever home is at that moment. I call it living my “Plan B” lifestyle!

OPINION|Thomas: Lower The Sales Tax [Poll]
It's been an extreme burden on consumers and retailers since 2009. That's when the Massachusetts Legislature forced their will on us, again. This time with a 25% hike in the sales tax. According to the Department of Revenue, the state was rewarded with $6...
OPINION| Thomas: Callers Chime Signs Won’t Cure New Bedford’s Panhandler Ills [Video]
When it comes to rectifying a problem, people usually project "something needs to be done." I adamantly retort, "no, the correct thing needs to be done."
In New Bedford, panhandling is a growth industry. City Councilor Hugh Dunn is proposing to put signs up with a telephone number, so the compassionate people can instead donate to a local charity...
OPINION|Thomas: Mr. President, Let Transgenders Serve
I'm more inclined to wish the President leave office than have his latest directive come to fruition. Commander-in-Chief Tweet Trump used his trustworthy fingers to tell his flock that transgenders will no longer be accepted or allowed to serve in the United States military...
[Thomas] New Bedford’s Public Safety Summit Should Be Public [Poll]
Noting the recent rash of crime and violence, New Bedford City Councilor Brian Gomes has requested a public safety summit. The stakeholders are the council, a representative from the Mayor's office and a slew of law enforcement agency officials...
OPINION | Brian Thomas: Stop and Search Bad for New Bedford [Poll]
Perception or reality, crime is definitely up in one whaling city. New Bedford City Council Brian Gomes is proposing a Public Safety Summit to curb the onslaught of shootings and vandalism in the city. Seems to me, representatives from the city council, the Mayor, law enforcement and the general public should have long ago pow wowed over the hoodlum issue...
[THOMAS] Moped Crash Ushers In The Blame Game [Video]
You do it. I do it. We all do it. We love to play the blame game. Whatever the incident, somebody's at fault. Let's throw the book at him.
The other night, two 12 year old boys are riding a moped and crash with a moving car. They weren't wearing helmets...
OPINION | Brian Thomas: We See This Everyday With Governments [Video]
Americans don't have a problem muttering the term when dealing with Canada, France, Sweden, Russia or China. Some will utter a mumble when connecting the dots with local, state or the federal government. I'm talking about socialism. There are numerous elected socialists or social democrats worldwide...
OPINION | Brian Thomas: Chicago Public School System’s Plan is Ingeniously Sinister
Here's another situation where government is screwing things up. Chicago's erstwhile Mayor has devised an ingeniously sinister plan. Rahm Emanuel wants to make sure his government high school seniors are prepared for whatever. So, in order to receive their high school diploma, each senior must:
Pass their academic courses
Pass the state standardized test(s)
Now here's where it gets dicey...

[THOMAS] Trump Travel Ban Won’t Make Us Safer [Poll]
I spoke with the former President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association regarding President Trump's travel ban executive order. First, I admit believing the Supreme Court handed the President a resounding victory by lifting the injunction...
[THOMAS] 3 Reasons To Say No To Single-Payer Government Healthcare
It's bad enough Beacon Hill lawmakers are quibbling over legal marijuana, the budget and Planned Parenthood funding. The Commonwealth is hundreds of millions of dollars in red ink, and what do several Reps. and Senators propose, a single payer, taxpayer supported, Medicare for all system...
