SOUTH ATTLEBORO (WBSM) — A New Hampshire man was found deceased in his vehicle at the Chick-fil-A in South Attleboro Thursday morning.

According to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III, a well-being check was requested at about 10:42 a.m. on June 26 and Attleboro Police responded to the Chick-fil-A restaurant at 252 Washington Street.

When police arrived, they discovered the man in his vehicle. He has been identified as Marc Mantel, 52, of Derry, New Hampshire.

Mantel was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The D.A.’s Office said Mantel’s death “is not deemed suspicious” but did not provide any further information or indicate a possible cause of death, calling it a "medical fatality."

The Victims in the New Bedford Highway Murders

The New Bedford highway murders took place in 1988, with the bodies discovered into 1989. The killer is confirmed to have killed nine women and suspected of murdering at least two more. Although there were at least three different men considered as suspects by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, the murders remain unsolved and the families of the victims are still searching for closure. The cases are all featured on the unsolved cases page of the Bristol County District Attorney's Office website.
