Arrest Made in Taunton Murder Case

An arrest has been made in connection with Thursday's fatal shooting in Taunton.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says 20-year-old Miguel Marrero of Taunton was arrested in Roxbury Friday afternoon. An arrest warrant for Marrero was issued Thursday night after investigators developed evidence against him.

Marrero is charged with murder and carrying an illegal firearm. He'll be held in jail until his arraignment in Taunton District Court Monday morning.

Marrero is accused of fatally shooting 23-year-old Gordon Weeks on Fifth Avenue in Taunton Thursday morning.

A motive for the shooting has not been released. The investigation is ongoing.
