Popular Fall River Bakery Now on Shelves at Christmas Tree Shops

It’s the little Fall River bakery that could.

Amaral’s Bakery has been a staple on the SouthCoast for decades and now they continue to grow from their humble beginnings as they announce a new partnership with Christmas Tree Shops.

“A lot of our customers were asking us to expand, and they kept giving us suggestions,” said owner Jessica Amaral-Mari. “One of those (suggestions) was Christmas Tree Shops.”

Back in October, we shared the news that Amaral’s goods were now available at Shaw’s Supermarkets, but even with all the growing success, Amaral-Mari and her husband, Hamdi, continue to make their products with the original family recipe from the family home-turned-factory on Globe Street.

“I’m carrying on the legacy that my grandmother first started in 1962, and that’s why I do what I do,” said Amaral-Mari.

For Amaral-Mari, extending to Christmas Tree Shops is all about making Amaral’s Bakery as accessible as possible.

“I am most excited to get our product in the hands of the customers that have been requesting it the longest,” she said.

Trucks hit the road on Monday, and now shoppers can grab anything on the Amaral's menu on the shelves at Christmas Tree Shops. The expansion begins with Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut and Maine, with plans of expanding south.

Production has certainly increased, but rest assured, the recipe will never change.

“It is still very much my grandma’s recipe and we make everything right in Fall River,” said Amaral-Mari. “We are still right where Grandma started it.”

Amaral-Mari and her husband are extremely grateful to carry on their family legacy and watch their business grow from a kitchen on Globe Street and to shelves all across New England.

"I couldn't ask for a better staff," said Amaral-Mari.
