A Hallmark Christmas Movie Marathon to Socially Distance Yourself

Hallmark Christmas movies are inherently hopeful. It is nearly impossible to not feel a spark of joy while watching one. They always have a happy ending, and even though they are mostly predictable, you still find yourself watching one after the next. That's why I'm so glad to hear that there will be a Hallmark Christmas Movie Marathon this weekend, beginning on Friday, March 20 at noon.

While everyone is practicing social distancing, The Hallmark Channel deemed it necessary to spread some love with holiday cheer. You've probably heard about people putting their Christmas lights back up as a sign of hope to their communities. Clearly, there is something about the joy of Christmas that people are leaning on to get them through this quarantine stage of the coronavirus outbreak.

My mom is probably the biggest fan of Hallmark Christmas movies. In the month of December, if she's not out shopping or decorating, she's cuddled up in bed with a bowl of popcorn or chocolate pleasantly sighing at the career-minded woman and ranch-hand that will inevitably end up together. She's got all five of her kids and husband hooked on them too.

The Hallmark Christmas Movie Marathon will feature 27 original holiday films, starting with "A Christmas Detour," starring Candace Bure. The last film to be featured in the marathon is "Christmas in Rome" starring Lacey Chabert on Sunday, March 22 at 6 p.m.

On Friday at 4 pm, you can catch one of my favorites, "A Christmas Love Story" with Kristin Chenoweth and Scott Wolf.
