Major League Baseball announced the 2016 Silver Slugger award winners for both the AL and NL and the Boston Red Sox had three players tabbed for the honors.

The trio of Sox players is headlined by retiring designated hitter David Ortiz, who took home his seventh such award. In his final season, the power hitter posted a .315/.401/1.021 slash line and tallied 38 homers and 127 RBIs. He also led the Majors in OPS.

The other two members of the Red Sox to win the Louisville Slugger-presented awards were shortstop Xander Bogaerts and right fielder Mookie Betts.

Bogaerts, who won his second Slugger, posted a .294/.356/.802 slash line on the 2016 season. The 24-year-old also notched 192 hits, including 21 dingers.

Betts was honored for the first time as an award winner for his work in 2016. The AL MVP finalist led the team in hits with 214 and put together a solid slash line of .318/.363/.897. He also slugged 31 homers and drove in 113 runs.
