Authorities say three people were stabbed, one critically, during a fight that broke out on a Brockton basketball court that eventually involved about 100 people.

The victims all suffered multiple stab wounds during the brawl on the courts at the James Edgar Playground that broke out at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

All three victims ended up at the hospital, but no names or ages were released.

Mayor Bill Carpenter said one suspect was in custody.

The Enterprise newspaper reports that the playground was a childhood hangout for boxer Rocky Marciano, who played baseball and football at the site. The playground reopened last summer after extensive renovations, including two new volleyball courts, a new tennis court, a basketball court and a water splash pad.
