There are some things you should figure out with someone before you agree to spend the rest of your life with him or her. Asking these questions now could save you from a HUGE explosion later on in life. Below are FIVE questions from the list of 15 items to go through with your significant other. These are the ones I felt were most important, and definitely need to be addressed. (Obviously these are for a serious and committed relationship, prior to engagement).

"1) Have we discussed whether or not to have children, and if the answer is yes, who is going to be the primary care giver?

2) Do we have a clear idea of each other’s financial obligations and goals, and do our ideas about spending and saving mesh?

3) Do we truly listen to each other and fairly consider one another’s ideas and complaints?

4) Is my partner affectionate to the degree that I expect?

5) Does each of us feel fully confident in the other’s commitment to the marriage and believe that the bond can survive whatever challenges we may face?"

If you're already engaged, waste no time before confronting your fiancé with these essential conversations. For the best possible marriage, you need to be on the same page before saying "I do." And be totally honest with yourself as well. Prioritize the questions to what matters most to you.
