Following a Tuesday semifinal that saw eight goals scored, the other half of the World Cup final four was a much different story. Argentina and the Netherlands went to penalty kicks after 120 scoreless minutes and it was Argentina advancing 4-2.

Dutch goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen failed to save any of Argentina's four penalty kicks as head coach Louis van Gaal decided not to use Tim Krul in the shootout as he did in the quarterfinal win over Costa Rica.

Argentina goalie Sergio Romero came up with a pair of saves and it was Maxi Rodriguez who fired home the winning goal after a trio Argentinians including Lionel Messi all scored.

The Netherlands will meet Brazil for third place on Saturday.

Argentina will play Germany in Sunday's final from Rio de Janeiro. A two time World Cup winner, Argentina reaches it's fifth final and first in 24 years. They won the title in 1978 and 1986, while coming up short in 1930 and 1990.

Also this sad note: A report from an Asian sports website says a 15-year-old girl killed herself over the World Cup.

According to Sportskeeda, the teen from Nepal reportedly committed suicide after her favorite team, Brazil, was defeated 7-1 by Germany.

Police say she hanged herself after schoolmates teased her about the stunning loss. The sports site reported the girl was studying in her room after discussing the game with friends before she took her life.  (Metro Networks Inc.)
