Woman managers have more motivated employees, both male and female, than do male managers, according to a new Gallup study that found 33 percent of employees are engaged when a woman is in charge compared to 25 percent when it's a man. The study also found that female managers tend to be more enthusiastic about their jobs, with 41 percent of female managers feeling engaged at work compared to 35 percent of male managers.

In other results, women managers were better at encouraging subordinates' development, checking in on employees' progress and providing more positive or constructive feedback! Why do you think this is? Perhaps it's because women managers do tend to be more enthusiastic about their jobs. So, with your own experiences, were you better off with a male or female boss? Do you have a preference?

One-third of Americans currently have a female boss.
