According to Patriots Insider Mike Reiss, New England Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady has enlisted the help of a former teammate, as he continues to prepare and stay sharp during his league mandated 4-game suspension.

According to former Patriots' receiver Wes Welker, who had been co-hosting on Miami-based radio station 560 WQAM, Brady has invited him to play catch this weekend.

Welker had said that he originally reached out to his old quarterback to set up dinner plans, as he was heading to New England this weekend for the Patriots' Sunday match up with the Miami Dolphins.

Instead, Brady told his former top receiver to come out and run some routes.

"It was funny. I hit him up [because] I'm actually heading up to the game [Saturday], and I hit him up to do dinner Saturday night," Welker said. "[Brady] was like 'I'm going to be flying in from Ann Arbor later, but hey, how about that morning we go throw?' And I'm just sitting there, like, 'I was just thinking about dinner, but yeah, sure.' I'll get over there early and we can throw a little bit. That's the only thing we really have planned."

Of course, Brady is not allowed to have any"football-related" contact with any members of his team, so there was speculation that a link up with a former teammate or two would be a possibility.

Welker, who is currently a free agent, had a tremendously successful stint with the Patriots and Brady from 2007-2012.
