Warrant Issued For Suspect In Attempted Store Robbery

New Bedford Police have released the name of a suspect wanted in connection with a convenience store robbery on Thursday.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says a warrant was issued for 18-year-old Javante Antone of New Bedford for one count of Attempted Armed Robbery.

Antone is accused of trying to rob the Royal 7 Food and Deli with a knife around 11:15 a.m.

He was unable to get any money and was last seen fleeing on Summer St. on foot.

Vicente says Antone's hair was longer during the time of the robbery than it is in the photo provided by police.
