Wareham Police Say Teen Facing Gun Charges

A teen is facing gun possession charges.

Wareham Police Chief Kevin Walsh says that at approximately 5 p.m. Monday Wareham Police and members of SEMLEC Swat executed a search warrant at 39 Onset Ave. over reports of a juvenile who was in illegal possession of weapons.

Walsh says the warrant was executed after school resource officers in Bourne and Wareham shared information that was found on social media sites regarding the juvenile.

An adult female was located and secured upon entering the home.

During a search of the residence detectives uncovered a loaded 9 mm handgun and a loaded .30 caliber 9' barrel handgun.

Walsh says both guns were high capacity weapons that could be loaded with ten or more rounds of ammunition.

There were also two "stun guns" found during the search.

The juvenile was later located in Plymouth and arrested by Plymouth Police at approximately 6:30 p.m. on an arrest warrant for possession of a firearm.

Walsh says the investigation is still ongoing and that criminal charges against the adult female are forthcoming.
