Wareham Police are searching for a suspect after a bank robbery Wednesday afternoon.

Chief Kevin Walsh says that at roughly 4 p.m. officers were dispatched to the Citizen's Bank located inside Stop & Shop on Cranberry Highway.

A teller at the bank said she received a handwritten note from a man who told her he had a weapon and that she was being robbed.

The man wasn't wearing a mask and didn't show a weapon.

The suspect left the supermarket after receiving an undetermined amount of cash and the teller was unharmed.

Chief Walsh says the suspect was described as a thin white male appearing to be in his 30's and 5'7” to 5'-9” tall, wearing a dark navy hat and a grey shirt.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact the Detective Division at (508) 295-1206, or by using the “Text-A-Tip” app that can be accessed on the internet through warehampolice.com.
