The vice president of NFL officiating is backing the referees decision of no penalty on the final play of the New England Patriots Monday night loss to the Panthers in Carolina.

Dean Blandino says the refs used proper mechanics to make a tight judgement call.

Tom Brady's pass was intercepted in the end zone on the game's final play. A flag was thrown for pass interference and then waived off.
