No strike as union reps reach a tentative agreement with Stop & Shop Supermarkets.

According to the Boston Herald, presidents of five chapters of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union reached the agreement at 4am Monday morning, four hours after the deadline.

The contract now goes for legal review, and ratification meetings will be set up with workers.

Some 40,000 Stop & Shop employees are represented by the union.
